Tributes

  1. Lovely Barbara and her husband Dave were my very close friends over many years initially through our involvement at the Hampton and Mentone RSL's Darts Teams. We spent many weekends and Public Holidays at her house in Aireys Inlet along with Dave's son David when he visited from England - Lots of treasured memories.
Unfortunately since she left Brighton I lost touch with her but was updated regularly by Marcia and David.I'm sure she finished her days in happiness which is what she gave to everyone who knew her - heart of gold.
    Rest in Eternal Peace Barb.

  3. My much loved Aunty Barbara. I remember sailing on the Taroona with my mother when I was 6 years old to stay with my aunt and uncle at Elwood. Judy and I spent a whole day painting the garage with water. How easily we were occupied in those days. Many trips to Melbourne were enjoyed over the years. I remember Aunty Barbara introducing me to the green grocer as 'Max's niece'. When we arrived home I asked ' why can't I be your niece'. In 1967 I was in a serious car accident in Launceston and I had many trips to Melbourne for plastic surgery. My lovely aunt was my support over 2 years of hospital and doctor visits. Aunty Barbara would be there for my admittance to hospital and when I was out of hospital and waiting to fly home she would take me shopping. We went to Chadstone and Southland shopping centres and for a 21 year old from Tassie it was a shoppers delight. Uncle Max used to visit me after work dressed in his suit and carrying a brief case and we would play crib. Other patients quite amused. I have visited Aunty Barbara over the years and have always chatted on our birthdays. I have many wonderful memories of happy times spent with Aunty Barbara, Uncle Max & Dave. Love lasts for every.
