  2. I was wanting to write something about Pauline but I’m glad I waited until after her tribute because being there filled me with the her spirit and reminded me of what made her special. She was the first Principal I worked for and I respected her leadership and vision, but she was special beyond that. Today with her family, I realised that this was her real gift to the world. Her daughters and their families are her legacy. Her quiet strength, her intelligence and her sense of wonder will be how I remember her. What a life well lived.

  3. Pauline and my husband (Robert Hurley) were neighbours in Arcare. Apart from both suffering from dementia, they were also both retired school principals and both were ardent Richmond fans. I was at the funeral today and I enjoyed learning about Pauline’s life before Arcare. For almost a year I visited Arcare nearly every day and Pauline always greeted me with a smile and I looked forward to seeing her. I admired her gentle dignity coupled with a touch of mischief. After Robert died in January, I felt it too sad to go back to Arcare, I prefer to remember the happier times. But I often thought of Pauline and wondered how she was coping.
    Blessings to you all.

  6. So sorry to hear of Pauline’s passing. A beautiful lady who had a wonderful sense of humour. She dedicated her life to Catholic Education and Leading people was her forte. We spent many hours discussing the ups and downs of her beloved tigers. Deepest sympathies to Jo, Gen and families.

  8. Paul and I enjoyed our chats with you at your nursing home in Port Lonsdale .
We go back to Primary. Secondary and Coburg Teachers’ College. There are many happy memories of us as we grew up.
We were both so naive that Paul used to explain any “ dirty joke “ to us.
Rest in peace . Marg McCrohan.
