  5. It was my privilege to observe the personal traits and work performance of Detective Sergeant Leigh Chambers of Torquay CIB during the period 1988 - 1997. His commitment to his profession was one of enthusiasm, integrity, good example and best practice. He was an outstanding team leader and crime investigator. I had no hesitation in recommending him for the award of the prestigious Australian Police Medal for "distinguished police service".
    Rest in Peace Leigh.

  6. A truely great man who I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time growing up with at portarlington caravan park. The countless hours we spent on the boat, behind the boat and enjoying the boat was something that made many children’s Christmas holidays. Many memories down the beach enjoying getting to know Leigh and his family. He truely made so many memories amongst us all with his selflessness and I think enjoyment at whipping us around on the biscuits. Sending all the love and respect to Pat and all family and friends. RIP
