  2. Fond memories of a lifetime shared with Mr Elliott (from primary school days as our teacher). It all started with our dad, Des Davis working with Jack's dad at the Derrinallum butter factory. We as a family attended Jack's 21st Birthday. He went onto become our primary school teacher, for me, altar boy teacher, football coach and good mate. In later years, we shared Derri reunions and Great Vic Bike together. Fond memories indeed! Condolences to the Elliott family. Sorry I can't be with you to share the celebration of your Dad's, Punka and Grand Punka's life. God bless. John Davis

  4. Jack was a big part of our family. He played cricket with my dad, Jack Carlon. He was a school teacher and Headmaster to my brothers and I. He gave my sister her first job, and she lived with the family in Derri. He played and coached footy with my brother.
After we moved from the district he kept in touch and my parents valued the continued friendship and support during their last years.
He has continued to keep in touch with us, right up to my last birthday in January.
What an inspiring life he has chosen to lead, as an athlete, seeing him cycling in Vic Bike ride really was the essence of Jack. Push boundaries. However his most endearing quality, l think, was his true interest in people and connecting, his kindness, his humour and his generous and unfailing gift of giving to others.
Jack, you will be missed, but never forgotten.

  5. Jack you were a great person to young and old.
Great friend to my father Lindsay Eldridge. Thank you for being so caring and pleasant at all times.
I had thought to ring you and ask about your coming to Derrinallum Footy club back in the 1950’s.
You were Mr Elliott on school days but “come on Jack”on a Saturday on the footy field.

You read us many intersting stories in class.
I can still see where you sat on the school desk.
I loved my school days in your class and you were half the reason I became a Primary school teacher.

Thanks what you did for everyone and the Derrinallum community.

Rest in peace you have passed your inspiration on to many people.

Deepest sympathy to all your family.
    God Bless from
    Julie Eldridge.

  7. Our sincere sympathy to Jack’s families. Tributes here and on Social Media touch on what a truly beautiful man Jack was for all the right reasons. If we are "here to serve", then Jack Elliott is an the exemplary example. To refer to Jack as "legend status" would be an understatement, as he has touched so many lives in such a positve way throughtout his treasured journey. Such an outpouring of love for Jack will be honoured this Friday at a level rarely seen. Equally such a sad time for the Elliott family. We are thinking of you all at this time. xxx
