Tributes

  1. The Dartmoor Cemetery Trust, and the local community, will always be indebted to John for the commitment he gave to his role as Secretary from 1989 until 2003.His manner with the bereaved was always respectful and sincere. His lasting legacy though is the untold hours he spent to bring Cemetery records and management to the required level, with a determined focus to identify many unmarked graves. The current Trust 'rides on his coat-tails'. Thank you John [and Dorothy for accepting the time he gave to his position!]

  2. Many fun memories of John. A young farmer friend. On the way to Alice springs 50 odd years ago. Stuck at Curdimurka (spelling incorrect) John with his pipe and corks around his hat with the sneaky smile. Bev and I had many fun catch ups over the years also with Dorothy . Such lovely friends. John I think of you often and now you are in peace. Take care
