Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 11 December 2023.

Greg was born 20 February 1954, to Stanley and Isabel Vaughan of Geelong West.

He was loved by wife Mairead and children Allison, Catherine and Adam;

Son in Laws Peter and Nathan and daughter in law Kim;

Grandchildren William, Samuel, Sullivan, Everett and Henry;

And siblings Christine, June, Bruce and Andrew.

The Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Mr Gregory Micheal Vaughan will be held at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Mercer Street, Geelong on WEDNESDAY (December 20, 2023) commencing at 10am, followed by Burial at Western Cemetery (Norwood St entrance).

We invite all who wish to say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.

  4. Apart from his deep love for Mairead and his children, Greg's other great personal trait was his strong sense of commitment to his community. Whether it was the Districts he served as a policeman or the Local government areas he served as a councillor, Greg was always on the lookout for what he could do to improve his local community. Greg was a Giver not a Taker. Over the past thirty five years the communities of the northern suburbs of Geelong have benefitted from his achievements whilst serving as a councillor and Mayor of the Corio Shire. Rest in eternal peace Greg, you have done your fair share. With deepest sympathy from Harry and Deb Peeters.
